I don’t get out on foot as often as I used to, but the mountains are still my favorite place to be. Living near Salem puts the Cascades and the Oregon coast within easy reach.
Some favorites: Trillium Lake under Mt. Hood, the rim country around Crater Lake, and from my Colorado years, fourteeners like Grays Peak.
